Mr. Arias (Panama)
I have the honour to inform the Assembly that, in addition to the Member States listed in paragraph 1 of the report of the Credentials Committee for the sixtieth regular session of the General Assembly, Angola, Georgia, Senegal and Tajikistan have submitted official credentials in due form, in accordance with Article 27 of the rules of the General Assembly.
Similarly, Afghanistan, Belize, Burkina Faso, the Comoros, Congo, Gabon, Iraq, the Lao People's Democratic Republic and Sierra Leone, in addition to the Member States listed in paragraph 2 of the report of the Credentials Committee, have communicated to the Secretary-General information on the appointment of their representatives by means of a facsimile communication from the head of State or Government or from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs or via letter or note verbale from the Permanent Mission.
The Acting President
We shall now proceed to consider the draft resolution recommended by the Credentials Committee in paragraph 12 of its report.
The Assembly will now take a decision on that draft resolution The Credentials Committee adopted the draft resolution without a vote. May I take it that the Assembly wishes to do the same?
The Acting President
Before giving the floor to the speaker in explanation of position, may I remind delegations that such explanations are limited to 10 minutes and should be made by delegations from their seats.
Mr. Bagherpour Ardekani (Iran)
My delegation joined the consensus on the resolution just adopted. However, I would like to express my delegation's reservations on those parts of the report contained in document A/60/595 which may be construed as recognition of the Israeli regime.
The Acting President
We have heard the only speaker in explanation of position.
The General Assembly has thus concluded this stage of its consideration of sub-item (b) of agenda item 3.
