Credentials of representatives to the fifty-seventh session of the General Assembly
Report of the Credentials Committee (A/57/634)
The Acting President
The draft resolution recommended by the Credentials Committee in paragraph 11 of its report reads as follows:
"The General Assembly,
"Having considered the report of the Credentials Committee and the recommendation contained therein,
"Approves the report of the Credentials Committee."
We shall now take action on the recommendation of the Credentials Committee set forth in paragraph 11 of its report.
The Credentials Committee adopted the draft resolution without a vote. May I take it that the Assembly wishes to do the same?

I now call on the representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who wishes to speak in explanation of position on the resolution just adopted. May I remind delegations that explanations of position are limited to 10 minutes and should be made by delegations from their seats.

My delegation would like to express its reservations on those parts of the report of the Credentials Committee contained in document A/57/634 which may be construed as recognition of Israel.

The General Assembly has thus concluded this stage of its consideration of agenda item 3.
