Earthquake in China
The President
I wish to convey to members of the Assembly that I have learned with shock and sadness of the earthquake that struck near Taipei yesterday. May I, on behalf of the members of the Assembly and on my own behalf extend to the people of the Taiwan Province of China our heartfelt sympathy at this time of trial.
