The Acting President
The Assembly has before it 22 draft resolutions recommended by the First Committee in paragraph 64 of its report and one draft decision recommended by the First Committee in paragraph 65 of the same report.
I wish to inform members that action on draft resolution Q, entitled "Small arms", will be taken at a later date to be announced, to allow time for the review by the Fifth Committee of the programme budget implications.

My delegation believes that the preservation of and compliance with the Treaty on the Limitation of Anti-Ballistic Missile Systems will contribute to the peace and security of the world and to international disarmament. From this stand, we will vote in favour of the draft resolution entitled "Preservation of and compliance with the Treaty on the Limitation of Anti-Ballistic Missile Systems", contained in document A/54/563 and are willing to become a sponsor of the draft resolution at the proper time.
Ms. Ibraimova (Kyrgyzstan)
The Kyrgyz Republic believes that the Treaty on the Limitation of Anti-Ballistic Missile Systems is of historic significance and is essential to the maintenance of international peace and security and to strategic balance. It also establishes conditions for further reductions in strategic and nuclear weaponry.
In this connection, I am authorized to state that if our delegation had the right to vote, we would vote in favour of this draft resolution.
